A small correction: evidently more tired than I realized, I misspoke and accidentally associated William Laud with Charles II – Laud was of course Bishop during the reign of Charles I, which was not good for the health of either man! It was, however, under Charles II that John Bunyan was imprisoned and wrote Pilgrim’s Progress.
